Claude Dispatch & Channels

I have a Claude Code project that organizes my todos, meetings, and notes. Until recently, I could only use it sitting at my laptop. That limitation made OpenClaw genuinely tempting when it launched in late January. Mobile access to my agent setup was the one thing missing.

But OpenClaw isn’t the only way to get there anymore.

Anthropic has since shipped two features that deliver the same mobility. Dispatch lets you trigger Claude Cowork tasks from your phone after pairing it with the Desktop app. Channels connects Claude Code to Telegram and Discord (with other messaging platforms likely to follow soon).

Both require your computer to be running. That’s the tradeoff. For me, that means I can jot down a thought from my phone, send it to Telegram, and Claude Code processes it. Same todos, same meeting notes, same tools. No new setup, no third-party auth layer.

The friction that made OpenClaw attractive just disappeared.

Channels and Dispatch are more limited than OpenClaw feature-wise, but they’re more secure by default (as long as you set sensible permissions).

OpenClaw started a new way to interact with agents. Anthropic just shipped the first commercial products with similar capabilities. OpenAI hired OpenClaw developer Peter Steinberger. They’ll ship something similar soon and others will follow.

Have you tried Channels or Dispatch yet? Or does your agent get a break every time you leave your desk?
